ERoSH Northern Ireland achieves a first with new sheltered housing directory

The first directory containing information about all sheltered housing schemes throughout Northern Ireland, irrespective of landlord, will be launched by ERoSH Northern Ireland (NI) at its AGM on Friday 20 January 2006.

The directory contains the name and address, the facilities and services provided, and contact details for viewing and applying for each scheme, and will be an invaluable and comprehensive source of information for anyone seeking a sheltered housing property in Northern Ireland.

The directory is the collaborative work of ERoSH NI's members, and was project-managed by Catherine Devlin, Housing Manager at Oaklee Housing Association in Belfast. Catherine was helped by Yvonne Johnston from North & West Housing Association and May Green of Abode Housing. Funding for its production and printing was made possible by a £4,000 contribution from Northern Ireland Housing Associations' Charitable Trust, which is acknowledged in the directory's foreword.

Colette Moore, Chair of ERoSH Northern Ireland, said: 'We are delighted to launch the first directory of sheltered housing in Northern Ireland. This will be a valuable source of information for the public, applicants, families, housing and social care and health professionals. The directory will make it easier for applicants to access information on housing options regardless of landlord. It demonstrates a commitment from housing associations in Northern Ireland to work together to compile this publication.'

The directory is freely available to download from the Publications section of this website, or from the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's website www.nihe.gov.uk

ERoSH Northern Ireland's annual general meeting will take place at 10.30am on January 20 2006 at Clanmil's offices in Belfast. Marie Heaney of South & East Belfast Trust will be the guest speaker.
