ERoSH Sussex to hold workshop on floating support

ERoSH Sussex in conjunction with the Sussex Gerontology Network is holding a day workshop on Floating Support.

Purpose: To examine in some detail the services provided by the Floating Support Worker.

Presentations will be made by Stuart Prince, Rother Homes (Floating Support introduced in April 2007) and a representative of Eastbourne Homes (Floating Support to be introduced on April 2008).

These presentations will raise the following issues:

  • What services currently being provided by the scheme manager are not provided by the floating support worker?
  • Are they provided by other staff? For example, housing officers, tenant participation workers, etc.
  • Are they no longer available? – is this important/significant?
  • What services are still available to sheltered housing residents who are not eligible/do not pay for foating support?

During the day, Imogen Parry, ERoSH's Director of Policy will report back from the ERoSH away day on 27 November on this topic.

Date: Monday 3 December 2007 10.30am to 15.30pm.

Venue: New Larchwood, Coldean, Brighton BN1 9EZ.

Cost: A light buffet lunch will be provided at a cost of £5.

The workshop is mainly intended for line managers and scheme managers but we plan to involve representatives from the Supporting People teams and some residents.

Please let Trudi Hamer know before 19 November 2007 if you are able to attend. If you are unable to attend please feel free to send a colleague in your place.
