Meic Phillips to leave ERoSH

ERoSH's Chair, Meic Phillips (pictured far right with former Chair, Lucy Cooper (left) and ERoSH trustee, Linda Milton (middle)) is to leave ERoSH at the January.

Meic, who has been involved since the charity, then a consortium, was founded in 1997, is leaving the housing sector to take up a new role in the health service.

In a letter to ERoSH, Meic wrote, 'I have carefully considered the implications for ERoSH. I am a person who tends to throw himself into whatsoever I am engaged with, and I feel that I will not be able to do justice to continued trusteeship. Therefore, I am reluctantly, going to resign as trustee and therefore as Chair.'

Meic, who has served the charity in a number of roles - including Treasurer, Honourary Secretary, Deputy Chair and more recently, as Chair - is a well known figure on the social housing conference circuit. He has also held many high level positions in the housing and care world, including Circle Anglia and The Abbeyfield Society.

Commenting on his departure, ERoSH's Deputy Chair, Wayne Emery said, 'Meic's experience, knowledge and contribution is going to be sorely missed. He has guided ERoSH through some difficult times and his leadership will be hard to replace.

'On behalf of my colleagues on the Executive Committee, I'd like to thank Meic for his service not only to the charity but to the sheltered and retirement housing sector as a whole. We wish him well in his new chosen path.'

Trustee and Lead for Regional Development, Jo McTavish will be Acting Chair until ERoSH's Annual General Meeting - when new officers will be elected to the Executive Committee - takes place in April. Members will receive details about this soon and are encouraged to come forward to stand for election.
