News from ERoSH's AGM 2009

ERoSH trustees, officers and members gathered at the NCVO's offices in north London on Tuesday 21 April 2009 for the charity's Annual General Meeting.

The meeting began with the annual elections and stepping down were:

  • Meic Philips as ERoSH chair
  • Colette Moore (Clanmil Housing Association) as chair of ERoSH Northern Ireland
  • And trustees Joy Kingsbury (Mendip Housing); Lesley Godden (Consultant); and Sue Ramsden (National Housing Federation (NHF)).

Elected as trustees were:

  • Amy Swan (NHF)
  • Eileen Patterson (Fold Housing Association)
  • Kevin Williamson (Westminster City Council); Rosie Ley (Sutton Housing Society); and Sally Bell (Sutton Housing Partnership)
  • Honourary secretary, Linda Milton (Waltham Forest Housing Association) stood down and was re-elected as a trustee.

The following trustees were then appointed to the following positions:

  • Jo McTavish (Consultant) as ERoSH chair
  • Wayne Emery (United Welsh Housing Association) as vice chair
  • Linda Milton as honourary secretary
  • Kevin Williamson and Althea Howarth (Consultant) as joint chairs of the Collaboration & Development Group
  • Gwen Hassell (National Wardens Association) and Sally Bell as joint chairs of the Regional Development Group
  • And Deborah Stuart (Aragon Housing Association) and Derek Wells (Waltham Forest HA board member) will oversee the strategic direction of ERoSH's website
  • Meic Phillips will continue to act as ERoSH's treasurer (though ERoSH is seeking a longer term solution. Read more ...) and will be assisted by Derek Wells.

Domini Gunn, Lead Housing Inspector at the Audit Commission was ERoSH's special guest speaker and whose presentation explained the work of the Housing Inspectorate, interesting facts about older people and housing, inspections of better commissioners and providers, diversity and positive practice.
