London members come together for AGM

Our London member network came together for its Annual General Meeting in May.

Guest speaker Toby Williamson, from the Mental Health Foundation, spoke to an audience of ten members, who attended the event at St Pancras Housing (Origin).

The presentation from Toby was on mental health and ageing, which proved very helpful and appropriate to members. It prompted discussion around the major factors affecting mental health and well-being amongst older people and the role sheltered and retirement housing staff can play in identifying issues and supporting tenants.

The prevalence of depression in later life was discussed and factors relating to that, such as loss of independence.

Thanks were expressed to Toby and the interest in the work of the Mental Health Foundation will continue.

Chair of the London ERoSH network Rosie Ley was re-elected as chair and secretarial support arrangements were agreed.

The date of the next London ERoSH network meeting was agreed as Wednesday, July 14.
