Record breaking numbers celebrate Silver Surfers’ Day 2010

Sheltered and retirement housing residents across the UK celebrated one of the largest Silver Surfer Days in May.

An estimated 32,400 people attended 1,670 Silver Surfer Day events, which were held by 1,039 event holders.

Following the inspiring work of the event organisers and the feedback of the people who took part in the event Digital Unite, which organises Silver Surfers' Day, is to stimulate an exchange of resource and learning about digital literacy and older people that's useful every day, not just on Silver Surfers' Day.

Please keep an eye out in future editions of the ERoSH ezine for some examples of best practice of housing providers improving older residents' digital literacy.
