Johnnie Johnson ‘Get Digital’ thanks to funding
ERoSH member ‘Johnnie' Johnson Housing has been successful in its bid for funding from the Get Digital campaign to help older people access computers.
A total of £33,000 of funding is going to help eight sheltered housing schemes at the Cheshire-based housing provider access computer equipment and IT training for residents.
The Get Digital campaign gives housing providers grants of between £4,000 and £5,000 to equip sheltered and retirement schemes for digital learning, and to buy additional learning support or services.
Peter Daly, director of housing services for Johnnie Johnson Housing and ERoSH's Get Digital representative, said: "We are very delighted that we were so successful in our bids for funding.
"The funding is going to play a part in developing the facilities we can offer our sheltered housing residents. We are seeing a shift in the needs of people coming into sheltered housing so it is important that we meet their requirements and providing IT equipment will help us do this."
