Launch of the National Housing for Older People Awards
The Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) has opened nominations for its annual awards for sheltered and retirement housing following the success of the inaugural awards in 2009.
The unique awards see residents nominate schemes through an exciting consultation process which involves residents playing a card game.
Residents of retirement housing, sheltered housing, assisted living, and extra care housing vote for their schemes through a consultation involving them in small groups as well as individually, using a deck of cards designed to stimulate discussions and help capture satisfaction ratings on design, services, and well-being.
Nomination packs are now available to be downloaded and scheme managers can order posters to promote the awards to residents.
The finalists are announced in late November 2010 with the award presentation taking place on February 3, 2011 at Ascot Racecourse.
